Spakhs (Turkey)
Along with the janissaries, these troops formed the core of the Turkish army. Spakhs comprised a heavy feudal cavalry settled at the European border
of Turkish Empire. They were perfectly skilled in combat and riding, as well as in individual fighting. Their entire life was devoted to soldiering.
They constituted a sort of warrior caste in a certain sense comparable to European knighthood. Spakhs wore armor and wielded varied weapons.
